SHOW STARTS:
Come on people, it has to Brian Dowling surely!
He’s no different from back in the day, still as genuine, caring and bloody hilarious as ever. I know a lot of people are rooting for Nikki or Nick, but come on… When you think of Big Brother, who’s the housemate who makes you smile? I’m not talking about strops or controversy, I’m talking fun! Isn’t that what this show is supposed to be all about, the housemates we truly love?
Have I convinced you to vote?
Vote Brian!

During the first part of the show, we’ll be saying goodbye to four housemates. Davina looks stunning in red sequins, but bless her she’s choking up already at just the mention of the word ‘goodbye’. Her eyes flood, "Big Brother will not be watching after tonight and you will not be watching…"
Altogether, arrr…

I don’t know what all the fuss is myself, I’m convinced the concept will be back next year – just not with Channel 4. Come on, it’s just too good to axe!
We kick off the highlights will Chantelle’s heart-to-heart with Brian about Preston – Just tell him Channers! Click here to read all about it…
Bless… We see the housemates heading one by one to the Diary Room to share their final words. Brian says, "it’s defined who I am for the past ten years". Nikki admits that it’s changed her life in so many ways and Nick says it’s a once in a lifetime life changing experience. "The best moment was being chosen and I will have these experiences with me for the rest of my life".

As the housemates give one word to describe their journey, we’re reminded of all the best things about Big B… "Rollercoaster-esque" "Magical" "Amazing" "Fun" "Legendary".
Ulrika sums it up in one sentence. "Sometimes life is very serious and I can look back on this and remember how to be ridiculous!"
That’s Big Brother right there!
Time for Big Brother’s Funeral (oh joy!)Did you see Preston touch Chantelle’s arm to check she was okay? Bless… I was surprised by how poetic he was.

Preston’s Eulogy:
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
The hour is nigh
And as you shut one enigmatic, unflinching eye
Your ghost takes flight into the sky
An eye that witnessed escapades, wine bottles, jacuzziness and other charades..
We hope before the tears have dried, you’ll be reincarnated on the other side.
Hmmm… ‘The other side…’ is Preston having a psychic moment? 😉

Nick’s words are quite touching too. "I was here on day one and I’m here on the final day", he’s the only one who can say that! Does that warrant a win though?
We rejoin the housemates at the wake and I have to say, it’s so sad. Nikki weeps in the garden before pulling herself together and heading back to the party. She smiles, but it’s short lived as Big Brother plays James Blunt’s Goodbye My Lover into the house. Nick, Vic, Ully and Preston leg it into the garden to have a cigarette and Chantelle, Nikki and Brian are left hugging and crying in the living area.
You get the feeling this song means more to Chantelle than a Big B goodbye.

How refreshing is it to hear Davina agree with us! During the behind the scenes footage she discovers she has an interview with Shabby, "I don’t think she deserves an interview!" Good for you McCall, neither did we!

Marcus Bentley is God! That is all…
Oh, …so is Davina!
Mummy and Daddy Big B – If only Dermot was still with us (Phwaor!)
Davina and producers agree that the hardest thing about the end of the show is ‘the team’. "We have the best team on television, everyone knows each other well and we’re like a family".
We’re live to the house!
The housemate finishing in seventh place is Ulrika ka ka ka!
No boos, all cheers, pyros and pop!
Stunning in a simple black off the shoulder shift, the paps are loving it…

THE INTERVIEW:
Ulrika takes a look at her time in the house and she can do nothing but laugh at herself. She smiles as she hears Josie sing her praises and beams when Nikki says she’s like ‘her mum’.
There’s laughter all round when she gets ‘caked’ in the Diary Room and she’s scowling at the argument with Nadia.
"I’ve met so many great characters and once again it’s been a great experience".
"I have a terrible short term memory and I have to ask Brian what I did yesterday. That reminded me in a happy way. It was an honour to be asked and I never thought in a million years that I’d win. There are huge fan bases for the housemates over the years…"

LOL! It’s a giggle to see Ully’s bitchy moments. She tells Nick he can’t sing, snipes that Vanessa’s approaching 60 years in television and barks behind the housemates back.." I’ve really enjoyed her direct approach and wit.
"Sometimes I had to stop and think I was being too opinionated". She admits that she had to stop herself at some points, "it reached a point of gay abandon".
After Ully expressed concern about her son’s opinion of her dancing, Davina puts her out of her misery. "He said that he is very proud of you and you have smooth moves on the dancefloor".
The subject swings to her love-hate relationship with Vanessa and like Nessy before her, she’s complimentary. "I think Vanessa is in great place now and it shows, we had words but we’re of similar ages and it was nice to have other conversations with her in there".
Ully on Brian: "He’s so sarcastic and wicked and funny, all my defences went down and he can say things to girls that girls can’t say to girls. Everyone should have a piece of Brian. Brian’s got to win, it’s got to be Brian!"

Straight back to the house.
In sixth place is… Preston!
I can’t wait for him to see how much she loves him, I hope he feels the same – cross your fingers!

THE INTERVIEW:
Davina goes straight for the gut and asks about Chantelle.
"I think it’s hard for anyone to be in that sort of situation. I can still remember all the reasons why we split up but it’s reminded me of all the good things, things I’ve forgotten. It wasn’t like a Mickey Mouse seperation, it was really dark for both of us…"
Aaaagh! Love it, they’re showing him everything Chantelle has said…

"Obviously this is the number one most surreal place for this sort of thing. We’ve been video chatting before we come in and I need to talk to her. I’ve just seen that and…"
Davina moves on and I sooo don’t want her to – Push him McCall!
Preston loves Brian and thinks he’s ‘lovely’. He was expecting Nick to be sneaky but was pleasantly surprised that he wasn’t – "I’d like Nick to win!"
Sod that, do you love her or not!

Moving on…
In fifth place is… Nick!

That’s a surprise actually, I’ve no doubt he’ll get cheers.
Come on, he deserved to be in the final – day one to the last.
THE INTERVIEW:
Nick has enjoyed his time in the house and will hold his experiences dear for the rest of his life. Ultimate Big B has done wonders for him in my opinion, we’ve seen another side to him and it’s all good. I still think the hiding notes moment was classic – he papped it!
"I’ve loved every moment of it! Ultimate Big Brother has given me the confidence that was taken during the first series".
He’s quite choked and Davina thinks it’s fitting that he’s ‘here’. "I know Nadia had a bad time, but for me it’s been a second chance".
Davina points out that when he entered the house she introduced him as ‘Nasty Nick’, when he left she called him ‘Nick’. "You’ve changed Nick…"
He watches the footage of all the housemates singing his praises. He admits that it’s been difficult having the ‘nasty’ name for ten years. He’s happy that he’s had the chance to return and change people’s opinions.
"The idea of this show was to have a celebration and I hope that the fans have had a celebration. The press tend to hold on to you if you have a label. I’m glad I’ve proved that what happened ten years ago is history".
Moving on..
Davina asks about his ‘bromance’ with Vic. "It was fun, we gave all the housemates nicknames and made ‘gentle’ fun of them".
He liked Coolio and Vic (obviously), he thought Ully was ‘nice’ and Nikki was ‘sweet’. "She’s a big Big Brother fan like Brian Belo, she’s like a child but she’s adorable".
So how has Big Brother changed over the years?
"We had tasks like doing pottery and the tasks now are great… so creative. I think it’s fitting that it should end like this".

Back to the house!
In fourth place is… Victor!

THE INTERVIEW:
Victor takes a look at his best bits and he’s happy with his ‘performance’. He laughs at his saucy moments watching Makosi and smiles when Nikki says how funny he is.
"I’m fantastic!"
He’s happy that he’s had a better result than last time but was hoping for maybe ‘one place more’. He admits he had a game plan to make everyone love him and then ‘I was gonna do what I had to do’.
Davina says he was hilarious, "I loved it when you were following Brian around, you’re convinced Brian will win aren’t you?"
"Hey, if Brian doesn’t win – there’s something not right. I always think the winner should be the most entertaining and he hit it out!"
He watches the footage of his antics. "I know I talk a lot of sh*t, but fundamentally I’m a humble person".
Vic admits that he loved his relationship with Nick. He’s chuffed that things have turned around for ‘Bateman’. "He’s hilarious! He’s not a bad guy, he did one thing way back and got a bad rep." He liked the time in the bedsit as he ‘got to know Michelle a bit more’. "She’s changed a lot though, she speaks differently and she keeps her clothes on!"
Davina points out that he was ‘different’ too. "Yeah, it wasn’t that kind of show. I said to myself to treat people how they treat you".
(I choke back the lump in my throat as Davina introduces the one and only, Jade Goody)
I loved Jade from the very beginning and have done ever since…
It’s lovely to see her ‘racist’ label being torn apart before my eyes and to hear that Shilpa encouraged her to do BB India as she knew Jade ‘wasn’t a racist’.
Jade wanted to be everyone’s friend. She was a battler, a grafter.. fun, silly, loud and opinionated with a heart of gold. I admire anyone who has those qualities… Even more so when that person is a mother. A mother who opens up her private life and allows her pain and misery to be filmed so she can provide for the future of her children.
The moment when she discovered she had cancer is both unforgettable and heart-wrenching. She was completely alone.

Fighting the illness took her hair, her strength and sadly her life, but she always had spirit and would always raise a smile.
Jackie, Jade’s mum says: "If she’s looking down, I’m sure she’ll be so happy that she’s been remembered on the final night of Big Brother… as the Ultimate Housemate".
RIP Jade.
What a wonderful tribute by Channel 4 – Davina’s in tears…

Time for Dermy’s Last Supper and Davina’s Big Send Off…
Loving Dermy’s Last Supper – Great to see some classic moments…
Alex singing behind the door
Rex’s mischief (the ‘treat’ shopping list should have been featured)
Anthony and Makosi in the pool
Pete and Nikki… a two week love story LOL!
The misery that was BB4
Luke and Bex..
Mario’s Proposal
I’d forgotten how sickening the whole Anthony and Craig thing was – Eugh! When he threw up and Craig undressed him it was nothing more than creepy!
Good Brian, Evil Brian…
When Narinda quipped "people think I’m gorgeous" and Brian replied, "who, Stevie Wonder?" He should win just for that!
Why are Channel 4 dropping this show?
I’m so glad that Pete got the final word – "W**kers!"
Davina reveals her favourite clip during her Big Send Off: Much as she’s loved them all, her number one moment was from Ultimate Big Brother. When Brian stubbed his toe and spiralled while spewing up milk! "It was awesome and so graceful, he even added the spin! I watched it over and over on Sky+ ".
Her favourite couple? Luke and Bex
"You’re my favourite Big Brother couple as, like Helen and Paul you were the most unlikely but I watched you fall in love". The pair are no longer an item and barely speak. McCall encourages them to wipe the slate clean and renew their friendship as ‘this is silly’.
Davina’s sexiest housemate is Stuart!
As he walks out in tiny shorts, George Lamb says he wore little else on the show. Davina scoffs, "why would you!" Phwoar!
Her favourite housemate of all time is Brian: "I love Brian, he’s not changed. He’s still entertaining, caring, fun and naughty – all the things I like". Brian sends Davina a personal message from the house, "Davina, you’re my favourite presenter.. and I love you, with tongues!" He adds a ‘fleurleurleurleur’ with his tongue wiggling and she falls into fits.
Her final goodbye:
"Thank you to all the housemates. I know some of you have had a rough jouney, but I hope you find that it was worth it as we’ve loved watching you. I’ve learned so much from you about people and I’ve learned a lot about not judging a book by his cover, so thank you for teaching me".
Back to Big Brother Ultimate Housemate: The Final!
It’s the final hour and Davina leads a somber New Orleans style parade and eulogy which then explodes into what can only be described as Mardi Gras!
"It may be the last hour, but we’re going out with a massive party… and you’re all invited!"
Straight to the house and leaving in third place is Chantelle!

She’s overjoyed to leave to such a joyous reception, radiant and beaming.
We’re down to Brian and Nikki – Who should take the crown? Please don’t let Brian be robbed of this moment guys, Nikki couldn’t even speak last time she came out and he soooo deserves it – he’s even Davina’s favourite!
THE INTERVIEW:
Chantelle watches her best bits and she has mixed emotions. One moment she’s smiling and the next she’s close to tears.. Preston.
Davina warns her that she will have to talk about Preston and Chantelle looks on as the VT runs of her tears in the house.
"One minute I was so happy and the next my head was a mess. While we were in the house I didn’t want him to know I was upset".
Davina says, "You did a very good job of hiding your sadness, he had no idea until you spoke to him today". She reveals that the nation is willing them to get together.
"You’ll need to ask Preston. I’m sure he knows how I feel now… I am gonna talk to him tomorrow".
Chantelle was pleased she got chance to get to know Coolio, "he’s so much fun, he’s like a little boy and you can just have a laugh with him".
Same goes for Nikki, "she was supposed to have said some stuff but we’ve got on so well and I think she’s really grown up over the past few years".
IT’S TIME PEOPLE!
THE WINNER OF BIG BROTHER: ULTIMATE HOUSEMATE IS… BRIAN DOWLING!
YOU BEAUTY!
He’s screaming and jumping with Nikki, he just can’t believe it. "Oh my God! Oh my God!" Davina asks Brian to hold fast and calls for Nikki, I have to laugh as Brian takes care of Nik and makes sure she’s okay and she has her handbag… typical. That’s why you’re the winner Brian, you’ve just won Ultimate BB and you’re still a sweetie.
Makes me laugh how he tells Davina to ‘hurry up’ though LOL!
So Nikki is our penultimate Ultimate Housemate, pipped at the post but she’s pleased as punch to be runner-up and to have such a cracking reception. She’s not dumbstruck this time, she’s smiling and waving.

She watches her best bits with glee and has obviously had an absolute ball!
THE INTERVIEW:
"Doing this has meant the world to me and I’m so honoured to be part of it – I’m in the final two, it still doesn’t feel real. Oh my God!"
Much has she’s not thrown an enormous wobbler this time around, Davina runs VT of her mini-strops. My personal favourite was, "I need my sleep and if I don’t get it, I’m gonna BRAIN someone!"
Nikki admits that this time around she erupted more internally than externally, "I’ve learned to do that".
Davina asks about Vanessa, "I was friends with Vanessa before I went in and I was so happy when she arrived. It was like there was an angel in the house watching over me. She didn’t have to be in the same room and I knew as long as she was there, everything was okay".
She’s so happy for Brian. "I love him, he so deserving. He really is adorable and we’ve become great friends. I’m so happy he’s won".
"It’s just changed my life so much and I’m just so grateful for everything you guys have done for me – I have these amazing memories, thank you so much!"

BRIAN IS SAT BY THE DOORS TO THE GARDEN IN TEARS…
He shouts to Davina from the house, "Davina, I am frickin’ freaking out! I’m going to cry (he chokes) but I.. never expected this in a million years!"
Arrr.. I love this man. That is all.
He climbs the stairs slowly as he wants to remember it. He’s a deserving winner for all the right reasons, but he also scooped 49% of the vote!

The fireworks erupt and Davina is so excited.
Her favourite housemate of all time has done it!

He’s overwhelmed to hear all of housemates comments…
Nikki thinks he’s ‘so funny’ and Chantelle believes he’s the nicest guy she’s ever met. Victor says it’s the travesty if he doesn’t win and the positive adjectives just keep coming.
Brian is so happy, "I didn’t want to believe it… I know a lot of them thought I was going to win but I believe that if you think it, it won’t happen – so I didn’t. I didn’t want to look arrogant saying ‘oh yes maybe you’re right!’". He laughs…
He reveals that he was concerned after Nadia left as she was one of his favourites. "After what happened to her it started to get into my head".
Davina asks him about not getting involved in controversy. "I concentrated on the fact that I was only in the house for three weeks, before I was in for a lot longer. I had to concentrate on the fact that I had my family and friends outside. I thought what’s the point, I wanted to enjoy it".
Brian can’t believe that he’s never been nominated and has won twice! "I know it’s the weirdest thing and to think that people have voted again. You can say thank you but sometimes thank you is never enough. Then again, I’ve been out with a lot of men, I’m a great housemate but a sh*t boyfriend obviously!"
Our winner thinks that Chantelle and Nikki will be firm friends of his and he admits that he had a bit of a crush on Victor.
Brian loved his time in the house and after a holiday would like to return to TV – as Davina demands that he does LOL!
We end with Davina and Brian cuddling as she says her own goodbyes. She thanks all of the team (who are like her family), the housemates, her husband (who has handed her over to this show every summer) and most importantly the viewers. The tears fall as she says how much she loves this programme… I hope she follows it wherever it goes.
Brian said it all when he described what this show means to him. While in the house he said: "I have been away for nine years.. nine! It feels like I’m home, there… I said it.. I am home!"
"There is one word to describe this experience ‘sof*ckingamazing!’ That’s one word!"
Brian takes to the stage as the fireworks erupt!
CONGRATULATIONS!

I can’t think of a happier ending to this show.
I’ve had a ball being part of this phenomenon. I would like to thank all of you for visiting this blog over the years. There has been over 12 million hits and long may it continue…
